James Marks
James joined DSA Law in March 2019 and has more than 10 years experience in dispute resolution and commercial litigation across the state and federal jurisdictions, including in the areas of corporate insolvency, bankruptcy, contractual and property disputes, debt recovery, retail lease disputes, professional negligence and trademark disputes.
In addition, James has extensive experience in judgment debt recovery and insolvency proceedings, including preparing (and applying to set aside) creditors’ statutory demands for payment of debt and bankruptcy notices, as well as corporate winding up applications and creditors’ petition proceedings.
James adopts a pragmatic and commercial approach to resolving disputes and gives advice in plain English. He is also an avid car enthusiast and beleaguered Melbourne supporter.
James completed Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Monash University and was admitted to practice in 2009.
